This delves into non-canon territory once again, but it is nonetheless a point on Goku's board that cannot be ignored, the Z-Fighter defeated Broly by himself in the latter's onscreen debut.
It was retconned as a non-canon debut when Super eventually came around, but when the debate arises between Goku and Broly, one cannot ignore that one defeated the other. It is also worth mentioning that in Broly's non-canon trilogy, he was beaten not once, but twice by Goku's children, Goten and Gohan.
