Langkawi or bali which one is better

The two destinations have a similar climate and fantastic scenery consisting of beautiful beaches, spectacular mountains, and lush rainforest, and both make excellent holiday destinations.

So which is better? To answer that question we must consider several factors. The larger size of Bali means more choice of hotels, restaurants, attractions, and areas to stay in. This is particularly problematic in Bali due to the traffic jams that occur regularly with more cars on the road. Furthermore, for a relatively small place, Langkawi offers plenty of choice of accommodation, restaurants, and attractions to suit a wide range of budgets and preferences. Over 4 million people live in Bali, compared to Langkawi which has a population of ,, with 75, of them residing on the main island.

Indonesia is also considering accepting travellers from South Korea, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand when tourist destinations like Bali resume business. While no specific date for Bali's reopening has been set, the government needs to make sure everybody involved in tourism has been vaccinated. The double-dose vaccination rate on the island has exceeded 70 per cent, but increasing the figure would better protect both the local people and their guests.

The government's choice of a gradual instead of a full Bali reopening is worth commending. Even if we long for Bali, we need to exercise caution as we have yet to win this Covid war. While executing the travel bubble programme, it is imperative that the SOPs are strictly adhered to at the planned locations. The authorities must stick to the golden rule that all necessary preparations are in place before reopening, while members of the public must exercise extra caution throughout the trip to ensure a smooth and safe vacation.

Other than faithfully complying with the SOPs, parents should also avoid taking their unvaccinated children along. Langkawi became the first destination under the government's "travel bubble" programme on Sept 16, and the response has been exceptionally good. Some 10, tourists flocked to the island within the first four days. Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Nancy Shukri says the government has decided to open up more tourist sites following the success of Langkawi, with Genting Highlands, Melaka and Tioman the next destinations ready to welcome visitors.

It is understandable that many Malaysians will get excessively excited by this programme, having been locked in for months. However, the pandemic is yet to be fully controlled and minors below the age of 18, who make up What if among the over 10, tourists flooding Langkawi island are unvaccinated youngsters who may get infected?

If the rule "only people fully vaccinated are allowed to travel" is strictly enforced by the authorities and travel operators, perhaps things may not get out of hand due to the travel bubble. You will find out that the Malaysian people are very much like the Balinese and are lovely and friendly. Areas you might like to try in bali are possibly Amed or Candidasa up the east coast which are much quieter than down south we hate legian, kuta etc which most of our time is up there or like we did this year spent 5 nights in Lovina up north, but depends how quiet or busy you like it.

One thing we are really looking forward to in Langkawi in not having to haggle when catching taxis etc , the constant hassling in bali to buy things and the never ending drivers is really wearing a bit thin on us, we miss the bali of old when we first visited there in and again in !

We used to visit Bali at least 3 times a year, but the constant "you buy you buy" eventually got to us. Love the locals and know they are only trying to make a living, but it got to the stage where you could not even have a meal in peace. We wanted a change, and found Langkawi. It was love at first sight.

I have heard people describe Langkawi as it " is what Bali used to be", and I think that is a pretty good description. For a tourist Langkawi offers lots of interesting options, and it seems to be easier to access them.. Overall eating and drinking in Langkawi is cheaper than Bali but someone may disagree with me on this. Locals are sincere, honest and genuinely interested where you are from and how long your staying.

Not saying the Bali locals arent as well, but Langkawi locals seem to have more time to sit and chat. Shopping in Langkawi is not terrific, most of the beach gear comes from Thailand. Climate is much same, but think Langkawi seems to have less rain
