Should i get 350z

The good news? That means the convertible tops are cheap to repair and easy to replace. If you like tastefully, or not-so-tastefully, modifications to your cars, the z is a great option. The car is so popular that there are a plethora of aftermarket options for cosmetic upgrades, including body kits, suspensions or interior upgrades.

They are an incredibly popular platform for making a car that is completely your own, from Sparco seats to a low-profile ride, you can get it all for a z. The first coupes were available in Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring and Track trim levels, while the Roadster was initially limited to just Enthusiast and Touring versions.

The car dutifully followed the Z-Car blueprint of a long-hood short-deck design, and the sloping fastback style arched roofline, unique brushed aluminum door handles, high waistline, and bulging fenders pushed right to the corners of the vehicle gave the Z an aggressive look that gave more than a hint of the performance available from this superb car.

As well as telling you where to go to get the very lowest prices on new and used vehicles, I also cover finance, insurance, parts, detailing and other stuff too. OEM parts for the Z are plentiful and reasonably priced, but as the Nissan Z is far more common than many exotic and expensive sports cars , there are also plenty of aftermarket manufacturers producing parts at a fraction of the price of the already affordable OEM parts. Although the engine in the Z was updated over the years, it never moved from being a solid 3.

The first version was the VQ35DE used in the and model years which produced horsepower and lb. The standard engine continued to only be offered with a five-speed automatic transmission. All that and I smoke all those little Z's in my town with it. These cars are almost always abused, sure, they were designed to be "Driven Briskly" but sometimes you'll find cars that are a bit more roughed up, even a surprisingly low miles.

Check for signs of replaced or repaired body panels and gutter rash on the wheels. Speaking of wheels, if they're after-market, stay away. The Stock Nissan wheels are actually very good, and someone who would replace them doesn't know how to treat that kind of car. You also want to check for uneven wear on the rear tires e. The Z has no real storage. Sure, you can cram a few bags in the hatch, enough for two people for a weekend or so, but that's about it. Don't expect to put big purchases in the "trunk" unless they're some sort of liquid, there's space, but it's not useful space.

More often than not your passenger seat is going to be your trunk. Then again, this is going to almost always be the case with cars like this though at least the BRZ gives you a fake back seat to use as the trunk. The suspension, steering, clutch, and most importantly the brakes are, well, very sporty.

Don't expect a comfortable ride, if you have a long commute you're very likely to regret the purchase. The clutch in the z is heavy, and can sometimes be tricky if you're not used to it, it's not the car I'd want to be stuck in traffic in and I have been.

The brakes are pretty much on or off, but this is something that you both get used to and learn to enjoy. You're not going to get catapulted forward every time you so much as look at them, but the engage at the thought of pressing the pedal, and they're VERY good at what they do. The big takeaway here is just as I said, don't expect a comfortable commute if you spend a good deal of time in traffic. As with any car, keep up with the maintenance and it'll be reliable, as mentioned the engine is mature, but it's high strung, so treat it right and it will treat you right just don't expect it to hit k without groaning.

Finally, double-check with your insurance company, you might get a nice little shock in how much your premiums are going to go up depending on what you're driving now.

The Z is a drivers car in the purist sense, it rewards your patience and skill by being nearly perfect, everything I mentioned above is basically par for the course and it's of little concern if this is the type of car you want.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Z will have you grinning ear to ear once you turn the key or rather press the button The interior is one of the best in class, and ignoring the stiff suspension it's surprisingly comfortable. Speaking of best in class, there is nothing like it on the market. The Mustang V6, while great, is slower, heavier, feels boaty, and really needs that V8 putting it way out of class.

The Camaro may or may not look good, but suffers from essential the same thing as the Mustang. The Challenger is too impractical, even compared to the Z.
