Manson mentioned that the crew had told her that she occasionally talked so much during shows that the set was sometimes twenty minutes longer than normal, putting the curfew at risk. Well, blame for tonight's lengthy set could not be placed solely with her. At one point, Erikson stopped the show to Manson's bemusement, and brought her father on stage, together with a round of whiskies with which they proceeded to toast the crowd.

Later, Vig vacated his kit to come and kneel at Manson's feet to listen to her chatting to the audience. It was all good fun, and helped the show pass the two hour mark.

If, like me, you loved Garbage's debut album from the grungy opening bars of 'Supervixen' to the trancey sounds of 'Milk' via all points in between, this tour was something special. Throw in a bunch of never-heard-live-before songs and two fine later numbers in 's 'Push It' and 's 'Cherry Lips' and you pretty much had a set designed to delight long-time fans of the band.

Manson mentioned the band were well advanced with a new album and hoped to be seeing us on tour within the next year. I, for one, cannot wait. Read more. Report as inappropriate.

After their first two records went platinum, they ultimately slid into retreat after , when their long-awaited fourth album, Bleed Like Me, failed to shake off suggestions that their sound - so closely associated with the last decade - was beginning to sound tired. In , they returned, more or less out of the blue, with Not Your Kind of People, a record that returned to the template of their early releases whilst still aiming for a fresh approach; this was still pop-rock, but the electro-experimentation of old was cast off in favour of aggressive, distorted guitars.

That, in turn, had a telling effect on their live shows; old material was reinvented, suddenly faster and more threatening, whilst new cuts sounded as if they were written to sound best live - not something you could easily have claimed about Garbage and 2.

Why don't more Americans and Scots make alternative music together? Perhaps because Garbage has done it better than anybody else. Achieving huge international success in the s from the offset with the release of their self titled debut album they have managed to achieve consistent chart success over their twenty year career in both the UK and the States.

An impressive feat for such an iconic act, now touring a melange of new material from fifth LP 'Not Your Kind of People' along with the modern classic material it is no surprise Garbage have managed to maintain such levels of relevance.

The way in which they attack a stage is startling as they amplify the music found on their recordings. A combative rendition of 'I Think I'm Paranoid' gains the first roar of mass approval from the varied audience who jostle and jump as Shirley Manson happily invades the front row's personal space. They run through their set at quite an exhaustive pace due to the huge amounts of hits they pack in so by an anthemic finale of 'Only Happy When It Rains' the audience is left fantastically frazzled.

Seeing Garbage at the Borgata Music Box in Atlantic City, NJ exceeded my expectations in many ways; the venue was small enough to make me feel involved in the event, the acoustics were superior and, best of all, Garbage provided an exceptional performance to the individuals lucky enough to be there. This band loves to perform; they were nearing the end of a busy U. I particularly enjoyed Shirley Manson's frequent stories and dialog with the audience, which enhanced the live concert feel.

Inexplicably, the venue was not full; I attribute this to a ticketing issue with the Music Box ticket system; for example, I attempted to purchase tickets as soon as they were on sale, had second row seats, but lost them when I did not have a login to the Borgata's ticket system.

Subsequently, I was able to acquire seats in the back of the theater, but there were many empty seats in front of me, which leads me to believe that blocks of tickets are reserved by resellers, like Ticketmaster. This is unfortunate as it likely results in individuals thinking the tickets have all been sold and missing an incredible concert.

Garbage rose to dizzying heights in the 90s after the success of their debut, self-titled album in The alternative rock band have since sold an incredible 17 million records worldwide and, in the process, have amassed millions of devoted fans. The band all work together seamlessly and their chemistry and genuine friendship is apparent from the very moment they step on stage.

From selling out packed arena tours to producing the theme tune on James Bon films, this band has had an incredible twenty years and their success and experience is only too evident: Garbage have an incredible stage presence, a confidence in their music and a passion in their performing. They blend grunge and electronica with hard core rock to create one of the most iconic sounds of the 90s, a sound that is still loved today. This was a proper arse-kicking gig to celebrate Garbage's eponymous first album's release 20 years ago.

Combine a band that knows the tunes inside out, a great stage set and Shirley Manson's stage presence and 'wittering on' and you got a first class night's entertainment that sent the crowd off into the night with ringing in their ears and smiles on their faces.

Given Manson said they probably wouldn't be performing some of the songs again after this tour, it's kind of a 'last chance to see' but on the face of it, any new material they come up with is still going to be worth seeing live. Once again Garbage with the amazing Shirley Manson rocked the Roseland with an unforgettable show!

And I love it that they could play a larger venue but prefer the more intimate setting. And every time they never fail to bring the house down with a very personal experience. They always make Portland feel like we are the best city that we really are! They absolutely love playing with the north west and you always feel like the performance was specifically played for you like at your own party.

Shirley gets to play dress up however she wants and she always looks smashing! I even checked out the Seattle show where she was playing in an oversized T-shirt and still looked fabulous.

The show was awesome! Security was tight which was great to see with what's going on in the world today. The venue was great as usual. Not a bad seat in the house. Opening act Kristin Kontrol was great also. They started around 8pm and finished promptly at pm.

At 9pm Garbage came on stage. Shirley and the boys were energetic and on point. Shirley paused the show to bring a fan onstage to wish her a Happy Birthday. Shirley and the boys brought her to the mic and Shirley announced that this fan had a birthday today. They brought a cake on stage with candles and all and we all sang Happy Birthday to this super awesome fan.

It was great.
